Edgar Allan Poe(10/19/12)
Poe was born on January with, 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was an American short-story writer, poet, and critic. He was famous for his short stories and poems of horror. He is most famous for his poem The Raven. He was given the nicknames "Father of the Detective Story". His life, and especially his death is known as a mystery. Poe was at the Swan Tavern Hotel and joined "The Sons of Temperance" in an effort to quit drinking. On October 3rd, Poe was found laying face down on the ground. He was taken to the hospital but he was never conscience long enough to explain what happened. He was then pronounced dead for an unknown cause. People believe it was from his health problems associated with drinking, he was poisoned, or he killed himself. There are many theories why but we may never know.
